Patrons tour to prague

In collaboration with The Lobkowicz Collections

March 18-25, 2024

Boston Baroque looks forward to embarking upon its next international tour!

Our travels to Prague, in conjunction with the Lobkowicz Collections, will include exclusive cultural opportunities and excursions, meals at some of Prague’s most outstanding restaurants, and – of course – the chance to hear Boston Baroque musicians, led by Founding Music Director Martin Pearlman, performing the modern world premieres of select works in the Lobkowicz Collections.

Travel

Tour patrons will be expected to make their own flight arrangements to and from Prague. Once in Prague, transportation for all organized events will be provided as part of the tour. Patrons wishing to take their own side excursions will be responsible for their own travel arrangements for those trips.

Accommodations

Boston Baroque anticipates that we will stay at The Four Seasons or The Mandarin Oriental. Once this decision is made, Boston Baroque will reserve rooms for all patrons. Rooms rates are based on double occupancy; a single supplement of $150 / day will be charged to patrons traveling solo.

Events

We are working with the staff of the Lobkowicz Collections to curate a tour that is unique, fun, and musically exciting. Events currently in the planning stages include:

  • A private guided tour of the Lobkowicz Collections, with the opportunity to view musical manuscripts in the Collections and attend an open rehearsal featuring Boston Baroque musicians as they work from the actual manuscripts.

  • A visit to the Dvorak House. Currently being renovated, the home of the composer Antonin Dvorak is slated to reopen in March 2024, so if on schedule, we will be among the first to visit it, post-renovation.

  • The opportunity to see La Traviata performed by the State Opera.

  • A gala final dinner and concert by Boston Baroque musicians.

Additionally, we look forward to including Boston Baroque’s artists as much as possible in the events of the tour.

Expenses

The total cost of Boston Baroque’s patron tour to Prague will be $7,500 per person. This is exclusive of air fare and single supplement fees and inclusive of a contribution to Boston Baroque. Tour contributions will support the making of a documentary film, featuring Boston Baroque musicians as they explore the manuscripts of the Lobkowicz Collections, by filmmaker Nathaniel Hansen.

To secure your place on the tour, your deposit of $2,500 (33% of the total cost) will be due to Boston Baroque by September 30, 2023. Should your plans change, this deposit will be fully refundable until December 31, 2023, at which point a second installment will be due, with payment in full by March 1, 2024.
